Olympic Glory Cookies

Posted on

Sarah and I are both psyched for the Olympics, (and she’s slightly obsessed with Michael Phelps), and we thought it would be fun to make olympic cookies for today during the opening ceremony.

These were certainly entertaining, but completely messy. My kitchen was trashed. We made the sugar cookie dough, then chilled for 2 hours. Once chilled, we began rolling it out.

We cut out shapes using a glass, and a knife. We’re classy like that. Here are our cookies, ready to go into the oven.

After baking, we had to let them cool completely before we could ice them.  In the meantime, Sarah and I prepared the icing, which looks very patritoic, espeically on camera.

Sarah is a swimmer, and as I said before, has quite a thing for Michael Phelps. Here she is decorating.

But here is the cookie she is most proud of.

All of our creations were delicious, all though some were definitely prettier than others. Here are the ones we deemed good-looking enough for public consumption.

And here are the more scruffy rejects.

Overall, these were a lot of fun to make, and they’re tasty too. Have a good weekend!
