My father turns 54 today, and is getting pretty old. I kid, actually with his Lasik eye surgery and knee replacement, only like 90% of him is really that old anyway.
As the stern (yeah right) patriarch of the Davis family, Dave fears nothing, except perhaps a daughter with an outstretched arm and a pouty lip. His great pleasures in life are blowing stuff up on his computer and xbox games, embarrassing his children, most notably his youngest daughter, and wearing t-shirts until they resemble swiss cheese. When it comes to food, with which this blog is concerned, he is a lover of country-ass noodles, sammiches, and flax seed cookies. He can also always be counted on to get a party started. See below.
My father has given me a lot in my life, including: an appreciation for the Grateful Dead, the realization that I would probably not be attending college on a basketball scholarship (turns out no one was interested in a girl who dribbled the ball off her own feet), and the knowledge that eating ice cream for dinner is totally fine, as long as we don’t tell mom. So, this year Padre, I’m giving you the gift of fame, in the form of this blog post. That’s right, this blog is viewed by tens of people everyday, allowing you to be immortalized forever! Happy Birthday!
