Weekly Grocery Shop

Posted on

I’m glad you all enjoyed Brent’s review of the restaurant too! I’ll have to work on getting him to share his wit on the blog more often.

We had a very successful stop at the grocery store today. We spent quite a bit, but we got a lot of stuff.

hpim3160The List:

  • 2 bunches bananas
  • 2 zucchini
  • 3 apples
  • 1 avocado
  • 2 ataulfo mangoes (I have never tried these, but they were tiny and cute and on sale)
  • 2 Roma tomatoes
  • scallions
  • 1 lime
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 sweet onion
  • 2 heads of green cabbages
  • 5lb. red potatoes
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 2 bagged salad mixes
  • garlic
  • strawberries
  • blueberries
  • 2 lbs. of walnuts (huge sale, had to stock up)
  • a potted organic basil plant! πŸ™‚
  • Smucker’s natural peanut butter
  • four fruits preserves
  • 3 Annie’s Mac & Cheese boxes ($1 each!)
  • dried black beans
  • R.W. Knudsen Very Veggie juice (only $0.75 with sale and coupon!)
  • mini white wine bottle
  • soy sauce
  • honey
  • sardines
  • organic brown eggs
  • organic skim milk
  • Stoneyfield plain yogurt
  • cream cheese
  • cheddar
  • frozen peas
  • dish soap
  • dishwasher detergent
  • trash bags

Our total was $73.74, but according to the receipt, we saved $28.24 with sales and coupons! This sort of thing really excites me.

Well we just got back from a run at the gym, so I’ve got to grab lunch and get some serious work done on my micro exam because we’re meeting friends for bowling tonight, which I’m really looking forward to! Hope you’re all having a great weekend!

  4. Nice Haul Miami!

Although describing bags of iceberg lettuce as “salad mix” is questionable. Just be real.
